TYBEE ISLAND- Margaret B. Wood, 86, died Friday, November 30, 2007, at Hospice House. A native and lifelong resident of Tybee Island, Mrs. Wood was a member of Trinity Chapel United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Tybee Island Historical Society, the Tuesday Supper Club at Tybee Light Shrine Club and a charter member of the Tybee Island Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Steele Wood, Jr., her son, Thomas Steele Wood, III, a brother, Richard Boyd, and a sister, Helen Clements.
Surviving are her daughter, Barbara LaRue and her husband, Thomas, of Goose Creek, SC; two grandsons, Wes Robinson of Washington, DC and Robby Wood of Pooler; a granddaughter, Stacey Frawley of Clyo; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Boyd of Roanoke, VA; a sister, Mary Thee of Savannah; a sister-in-law, Vera B. Wood; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Sunday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel with Rev. Andy Lamon officiating.
Interment will follow in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.
The family suggests that remembrances be made to Hospice Savannah, Inc., P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416 or Trinity Chapel United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1203, Tybee Island, GA 31328.
